The Center for Health Affairs and its Workforce Initiative, NEONI, Celebrate National Nurses Week 2015

The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative, NEONI, celebrate National Nurses Week May 6 through May 12. The purpose of National Nurses Week is to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in delivering the highest level of quality care to their patients. This annual celebration of the nursing industry was founded by The American Nurses Association (ANA), the only full-service professional organization representing the interests of the nation's 3.1 million registered nurses.

This year’s theme, “Ethical Practice. Quality Care.” recognizes the importance of ethics in nursing and acknowledges the strong commitment, compassion and care nurses display in their practice and profession. The theme is important to ANA to promote and advocate for the rights, health and safety of nurses and patients.

The Center for Health Affairs and its workforce initiative, NEONI, are joining in the week of festivities by:

  • Displaying the image on their lobby monitor and hanging posters throughout the office
  • Creating posts for Facebook and Twitter
  • Featuring NEONI’s nurses in The Center for Health Affairs’ employee newsletter

“This week we recognize nurses in Northeast Ohio who dedicate themselves to caring for patients and their families,” said Lisa Anderson, MSN, RN, senior vice president of member services, The Center for Health Affairs/NEONI. “Whether they care for patients in acute care, long-term care, or the community, the contributions nurses make help patients deal with difficult situations and decisions. Nurses are invaluable and appreciated in ways they may never know.”
