Cybersecurity Authorities in Five Countries Release Joint Advisory on Threats to Critical Infrastructure

Cybersecurity authorities in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom this week released a cybersecurity advisory warning of potential cyber threats connected with the Russian government.
The alert advises critical infrastructure organizations to take steps to protect themselves, including:
- Patching all systems, prioritizing known exploited vulnerabilities.
- Enforcing multifactor authentication.
- Securing and monitoring remote desktop protocol and other risky areas.
- Provide end-user awareness and training.
The new advisory updates another alert issued earlier this year, which provided an overview of Russian state-sponsored cyber operations and commonly used tactics. The new advisory includes a number of resources on the heightened cyber threat.
